Kendrick Lamar’s ‘MR. Morale & The Big Steppers’ is my AOTY; ROSALIA mesmerizes with ‘MOTOMAMI;’ Danger Mouse & Black Thought show off their virtuosity on ‘Cheat Codes;’ King Princess showcases their amazing talent on ‘Hold On Baby;’ and Santigold’s ‘Spirituals’ rounds out my Top 5

And this is it for my 2022 Year in Review! With the first New Music Friday of 2023 in two days, I will slowly slip into the new music river.

These albums, many of which come from the largest artists out there, meant so much. Often times, these were the most accessible albums to build conversations with on IG or with people in your personal life.

I can easily argue against anyone who thinks mainstream music is not any good… these 36 albums begin to highlight why today’s most noticeable new music releases matter and how much depth they have.

From the generational genius of Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift, to the under appreciated talent, though not completely unrecognized, of King Princess and Santigold. These albums are just so good.

Thank you to all those who spent any time with my account. It means so much for this 35-YO dad with a highly eclectic, weird taste in music… I love all y’all
