It all started when…

Quarantine just kept going.

Workout routines fell through, houseplants just kept dying and you can only play Minecraft for so long. But listening to new music, discovering new artists was the constant.

While music has always been a big aspect of my life, the tendency to discover a new artist or even a new sound has always been a struggle.

Finding new music started as a New Year’s resolution but quickly turned obsessive. After another business idea lost gas, I started thinking about a music blog or contributing to a review site.

As a former journalist and current marketing coordinator, all the natural elements to starting my very own site were there. Considering my two children, wife and brother were sort of sick of hearing about “this amazing new song,” the need to share new music with people outside my circle was there as well.

While I admit that I barely made it through Homer’s Odyssey, the concept of Odysseus meandering trials to get back home have always stuck with me.

Whereas Odysseus ailed to return home, Playlist Odyssey is meant to capture the sense of adventure in discovery.

So, as I continue this fun adventure in discovering new music and diving into the past, I hope you enjoy the ride.
