March 2023, with its 15 Loves, was arguably the best month of New Music since I began this Odyssey roughly 3 years ago.

April 2023, quietly, was not as extraordinary but provided such a tremendous follow-up to March with 12 of its own Loves.

Whereas Lana Del Rey, Yves Tumor, Kali Uchis and boygenius highlighted March’s big-name haul, more low-key artists such as Feist, Jesse Ware and Indigo De Souza were April’s biggest names. I guess the notable exception to this month was the absence of Metallica… which I’ll put bluntly, was not great.

Feist’s “Multitudes” and Indigo De Souza’s “All Of This Will End” will assuredly be in my AOTY discussions for the 1M+ and Below Radar categories, respectively.

Here’s to hoping May will continue what has been a tremendous two-month stretch of new music.

Bye!
