Zach Bryan’s ‘The Great American Bar Scene’ Is an AOTY Contender; Clairo Charms Us All; Childish Gambino Says Farewell; and Johnny Blue Skies Takes Us To ‘Passage Du Desir’

July was a very quiet month for me.
Yes, Zach Bryan’s “Great American Bar Scene” and Clairo’s “Charm” have entered the Top 10 AOTY conversation. I can say I’m a huge Remi Wolf fan now and I spent a great deal of time pondering the meaning of what Childish Gambino and Sturgill Simpson’s Johnny Blue Skies represent.
But other than that, I wasn’t able to add as much to my playlist. Though I will say, Childish Gambino’s “Lithonia,” Johnny Blue Skies’ “Right Kind of Dream,” Clairo’s “Nomad” and Zach Bryan’s “28” are legitimate contenders for my Top 25 Songs of 2024.
Perhaps I am in a Mid-Year lull and need to re-balance my beloved hobby.
Either way, let’s find some great new music!!!
